🔍 Analysis

Don't Trouble the Trouble arrives with considerable pre-release buzz, heavy promotions, and the backing of prominent industry names, but it unfortunately turns out to be an exercise in testing the audience's patience. If trouble had a physical form, it would probably be sitting right in the middle of this cinematic maze, politely asking you why you decided to buy a ticket.

The first half of the film introduces us to Fahadh Faasil's money-minded conman routine and his rather predictable encounters with the young girl. The setup feels painfully basic, relying on outdated tropes and forced humor that fail to generate genuine laughs. Even when the central secret of the girl's true nature is unveiled, the narrative lacks any real spark or excitement to keep viewers properly hooked.

The second half takes a long, exhausting walk down a road paved with sluggish pacing and repetitive gags. The narrative meanders aimlessly through an uninspired police inquiry track that completely drains whatever little momentum the film managed to gather. Instead of building emotional resonance or clever fantasy thrills, the proceedings stumble into a silly and illogical climax that feels more like an administrative wrap-up than a satisfying payoff.

Fahadh Faasil makes his straight Telugu debut with a sincere effort and manages a commendable job with his dialogue delivery, but the poorly written character gives him very little room to shine. Young Ssara Palekar does a neat job matching steps with him, but the supporting cast is entirely sidelined and underutilized. The direction by Shashank Yeleti struggles to find a clear tone, failing to decide whether it wants to appeal to children or adults.

On the technical side, Kaala Bhairava's background score provides occasional energy to keep the lighter portions afloat, though the songs leave no lasting impression. Brad Francis's cinematography captures the urban setting decently, but Praveen Anthony's editing needed to be significantly crisper to trim down the dragging sequences. Production values across the board remain standard, but good intentions cannot save a script lacking substance.

On the whole, Don't Trouble the Trouble is a fantasy comedy that works only in bits and pieces, ultimately falling flat due to pale writing and sluggish narration. Fahadh Faasil shoulders the film as much as he can, but a weak second half makes it a troublesome watch. A gentle reminder: if you plan on watching this, your patience might just need its own security detail.

🎭 Performances

Fahadh Faasil: Puts in a sincere effort with his dialogue delivery and expressions, though let down by an ordinary script.

Ssara Palekar: Delivers an endearing and natural performance as the mysterious child, holding her ground well.

Saurabh Sachdeva: Appears in an underwritten role that leaves very little room to make an impact.

Venkatesh Kakumanu: Provides decent support as the hero's friend.
