Kee is a Tamil techno-thriller that revolves around Siddharth, a skilled hacker who gets entangled in a dangerous cybercrime plot. The story follows his efforts to protect his loved ones and expose the sinister forces behind a deadly cyber-attack. The narrative explores themes of technology misuse, privacy invasion, and the dark underbelly of the internet, blending action with suspense.
Kee attempts to deliver a high-octane techno-thriller with a fresh premise centered around hacking and cybercrime. The content is ambitious, aiming to combine technology-driven storytelling with commercial elements. The screenplay, however, struggles with coherence and pacing, especially in the second half where the plot becomes convoluted and loses momentum.
The first half is relatively engaging, setting up the characters and the cybercrime backdrop with some tension and intriguing sequences. The second half, unfortunately, falters with predictable twists and an over-reliance on clichés, which undermines the initial promise of the narrative. The pacing dips, making the climax less impactful.
Musically, Vishal Chandrasekhar's compositions are a mixed bag. The songs are situational but do not leave a lasting impression, while the background score is effective in heightening suspense during key moments. Cinematography by Abinandhan Ramanujam adds a sleek, modern look that complements the techno-thriller vibe, though it cannot fully compensate for the screenplay issues.
Jiiva: Delivers a committed performance as the hacker protagonist, bringing earnestness to the role despite the weak script.
Govind Padmasoorya: Provides a decent supporting role but is underutilized in the narrative.
Nikki Galrani: Offers a lively presence but with limited scope for character development.
RJ Balaji: Adds comic relief but his role feels forced and inconsistent with the film's tone.
