📖 Story
Set in a village in Telangana, Damini is a young woman born with a peculiar medical condition: anyone who physically touches her receives an electric shock. To lead a normal life, her father moves her from one village to another. When she reaches marriageable age, Yadagiri, an aspiring local politician, agrees to marry her without knowing her secret. The truth is revealed to Yadagiri on their wedding night, leading to comedic chaos and emotional drama as they navigate their marriage, a joint family's greed, and local sarpanch elections.
Oh..! Sukumari suffers from a promising high-concept premise that is completely ruined by amateurish execution and outdated writing. The core idea of a woman delivering electric shocks on touch had potential for fresh situational comedy, but the screenplay quickly devolves into a series of predictable, cringe-inducing jokes and repetitive plot devices designed to delay the hero from finding out the truth. The pacing is sluggish, severely testing the audience's patience from the opening scenes.
While the pre-wedding episodes and the interval block show a tiny spark of life, the second half completely derails. The story attempts a jarring transition from forced comedy to heavy family drama, introducing a selfish joint family that miraculously transforms into a selfless unit. The resolution to the heroine's electric shock condition is lazy and unconvincing, leaving a weak payoff for a movie built entirely around that central gimmick.
On the musical front, Bharath Manchiraju's songs and background score fail to leave any impact, acting as further speed bumps in an already slow narrative. The technical standards are subpar, making the film resemble a low-budget digital short rather than a theatrical release. Editing is messy, failing to trim the redundant sequences that bloat the runtime.
Thiruveer Reddy: Despite the weak and repetitive writing, he delivers a sincere performance. He shows ease with comedic scenes, but the poorly written character restricts his acting scope.
Aishwarya Rajesh: Sincerely attempts to anchor the film with her strong screen presence. However, her character is weakly written, and her Telangana dialect feels inconsistent, rendering her efforts ineffective.
Vishnu Oi: Plays a wedding photographer and is the only actor who injects genuine energy into the film, providing a few rare laughs.
Jhansi: Performs her supporting role adequately, though her character leans into over-the-top, outdated tropes.
Muralidhar Goud: Provides decent support to the main cast in his limited rural-backdrop role.
