After four long years of waiting post-KGF 2, audiences went to theatres expecting a grand pan-Indian masterpiece from Yash, but instead received a grand, high-budget headache. Director Geethu Mohandas creates a world so full of endless style, endless smoke, and zero substance that even a strong cup of coffee cannot keep you awake. The movie tries to be a gangster drama, a emotional brother-sister story, a father-son conflict, and a psychological thriller all at once, ending up as a masterclass in how to waste massive money and star power.

The first half begins with a stylish intro sequence for Kiara Advani followed by a grand entry for Yash as Raya. The visuals look huge and expensive. But as the story moves forward into 1947 Goa, the flow completely breaks. We see endless action, gunfights, blood, and stylish poses, but there is no strong reason behind any of it. So many female characters and villains come and go without proper scenes. The brother-sister bond between Raya and Ganga feels routine and recycled. By the time the interval arrives, the audience gets only visual style with no real heart or emotion.

The second half drops the quality even further and tests everyone's patience. The story shifts focus to the conflict between Raya and his son Ticket, but the narration becomes very boring and slow. Sequences like rescuing a child from deep water feel unintentional and silly, reminding viewers of outdated cinematic tropes. The timeline and geography also confuse the audience, jumping between Goa, Macau, and random snowy mountains without proper sense. A big psychological twist is introduced near the climax, but after sitting through over three long hours, nobody has the energy left to care about it.

Looking at performances, Yash brings his usual mass charisma, cool body language, and powerful screen presence. However, he feels completely stuck in his KGF character persona, walking and talking with the same Rocky Bhai style throughout. Kiara Advani tries her best and acts well with her eyes in a few scenes. Nayanthara is a major disappointment because her character is written weakly without strong emotion. Other talented actresses like Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi, and Rukmini Vasanth are given very small roles and completely wasted.

On the technical side, the visuals and camera work by Rajeev Ravi are very grand, giving the film a rich international look. The sets and scale created by the producers are top class. But music director Ravi Basrur gives a loud background score that feels like heavy metal noise constantly blasting in your ears. Editor Ujwal Kulkarni fails to trim the film properly. At a massive 194 minutes, the movie feels far too long and badly needs a sharp cut of at least 30 minutes.

To sum up, Toxic is a very weak and disappointing movie that fails on most levels. The grand sets, massive scale, and Yash's swagger are the only decent parts, but they are completely killed by bad writing, zero emotional connection, and a painful runtime. The makers promised a exciting 'fairy tale for grown-ups', but ended up delivering a real sleeping pill. If you want to test your patience, go ahead and watch it at your own risk.

Yash: Superb screen presence and style as Raya and Ticket, but suffers from a heavy KGF hangover in his body language and dialogue delivery.

Kiara Advani: Gives a sincere performance as Nadia and looks good, doing a decent job with her expressively silent scenes.

Nayanthara: Disappointing act as Ganga due to weak character writing that leaves her emotional connection flat.

Tara Sutaria: Appears in a glamourous role as Rebecca with very little scope to showcase acting talent.

Huma Qureshi: Enters with strong buildup but has almost nothing useful to do in the story.

Rukmini Vasanth: Makes a brief appearance after the interval, but her character gets forgotten very fast.
