Saravanan (Suriya) is an upright lawyer who gets possessed by a local deity, Veerabhadra Swamy (Karuppu), to fight against social injustice and corruption. The plot follows his clash with Baby Kannan (RJ Balaji), an unscrupulous lawyer controlling a local kangaroo court. The narrative blends a courtroom drama with supernatural/fantasy elements as the protagonist uses divine powers—limited to specific geographical boundaries—to restore justice for the marginalized.
Veerabhadrudu is an ambitious action-fantasy drama that attempts to blend a grounded courtroom setting with divine intervention. The film starts on a promising note, focusing on a hard-hitting take on the judiciary and lower court functions. The first half is relatively grounded and watchable, building an emotional core around the plight of the helpless. However, the screenplay begins to falter as it transitions into 'god mode' in the second half, where the tone shifts toward over-the-top superhero antics that occasionally lack logic and believability.
The pacing is inconsistent, with a slow-burn start and a frantic, action-heavy second half. While the concept of a god having localized power limits is unique, the execution often falls into routine commercial clichés. The second half relies heavily on fan-pleasing 'mass' moments and references to other superstars, which may work for the core audience but feels disconnected from the realistic legal drama established early on.
Technically, the film is a mixed bag. Sai Abhyankkar’s background score is a major highlight, providing the necessary high for elevation scenes, though the song mixing in the Telugu dubbed version is subpar, making lyrics hard to follow. G. K. Vishnu’s cinematography captures the rural and urban contrasts effectively, but the production values are average at best. The climax, while energetic, feels like a standard commercial template, leaving the viewer with a sense of déjà vu despite the unique premise.
Suriya: Delivers an energetic performance, especially in the divine avatar. His screen presence and intensity in action sequences are top-notch.
Trisha Krishnan: Plays Preethi, an upright lawyer. She shines in the pivotal judgment scenes and shares good chemistry with Suriya.
RJ Balaji: Portrays the antagonist Baby Kannan with a riveting performance, though some might find his characterization exaggerated.
Indrans: Provides the film's most emotional and effective performance as a helpless father.
Natarajan Subramaniam: Fits reasonably well into the role of a corrupt judge.
Strengths
Weaknesses
RJ Balaji attempts to merge a social drama with a supernatural thriller. While he succeeds in creating high-energy theatrical moments, his writing relies too heavily on commercial tropes, making the second half feel unconvincing and formulaic.

The film received mixed reviews. Critics praised Suriya's performance and the interval sequence but criticized the routine second half, unrealistic courtroom setup, and the weak Telugu dubbing quality.
