Shiva (2006) attempts to recreate the gritty and intense atmosphere of the original Telugu film but struggles to capture the same impact. The screenplay is uneven, with a slow-paced first half that sets up the characters and milieu but fails to build sufficient tension. The second half picks up pace with more action and confrontations, yet the narrative sometimes feels disjointed and rushed. The pacing issues affect the overall engagement, making the film feel longer than necessary.

Musically, the film features compositions by Ilaiyaraaja, whose background score is one of the stronger aspects, effectively enhancing the mood and tension. Mohit Ahlawat: Delivers a sincere but limited portrayal of Shiva, lacking the charisma needed to fully embody the character's transformation.

Priyanka Kothari: Provides adequate support but her role is underwritten and does not add much to the narrative.
