Razor is an ultra-violent action thriller that marks a departure for Ravi Babu from his usual genres. The film relies heavily on brutal, graphic action sequences that may satisfy hardcore fans of the genre but could alienate family audiences. While the first half moves at a decent pace and establishes an interesting mind game regarding the hidden evidence, the momentum falters significantly in the latter half.

The screenplay becomes highly predictable, following a routine 'savior' trope that lacks fresh perspective.
